Nutritional valuable residues appear in big numbers during the process of wine production – in the German wine growing-districts alone, 120.000 hectolitres of alcoholic by-products every year. Nowadays, they cannot be used for industrial purposes. In the project PROVINO the ttz Bremerhaven is working on a new technique to enrich groceries, animal food and cosmetics with these resources. In co-operation with Spectral Service GmbH (laboratory for third party analysis) and the Spanish ingredients producer ALFAVERDE the scientist from Bremerhaven develop a process for an effective extraction and a gentle treatment of valuable residues. The creation of new products on the base of these ingredients is supposed to exploit new market potentials.
